Who we are
Drawing on the talent of musicians from the El Paso, Texas / Ciudad Juárez border and around the world, El Paso Barroco (EPB) is a conductor-less collective of musicians dedicated to historically informed performance. Comprising three ensembles: a Baroque orchestra, a viola da gamba consort, and a period string quartet, EPB fosters early music through variety and community engagement.

EPB offers musicians opportunities to perform on replicas of period instruments, bringing history to life through sound. Our mission is to provide the El Paso / Juárez community with immersive, historically informed experiences that introduce students, musicians, and audiences to the rich heritage and artistry of early music.

Since its founding in 2017, EPB has collaborated with partners such as the El Paso Museum of Art, Paso del Sur, the University of Texas at El Paso, the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, New Mexico State University, and Johns Hopkins University.

EPB believes music is a force of good and strives to create harmonious spaces where the border community can connect with history and culture through sound.
